Throwback II – Perth 2019

25/8/2019

2nd day is more interesting than our travel day. We spent the day at Freemantle, went to Kings Park just before sundown and meet up with my secondary school buddies that I have not seen in ages for ice cream and drinks at night.

Fremantle, how do I describe this place? I suppose its classy, rustic, enjoyable? I love the Freemantle market. Although I must say that food and drinks are not cheap here. There are food, shopping for all kinds of things, souvenirs included. We enjoyed strolling here. After the Freemantle market, we strolled outside shops. This is where you see pretty rustic buildings. It’s a nice walk. We spent a couple of hours just walking.Lunch is of course fish and chips. Also mussel. Can’t come to Australia without fish and chip+mussel right? We had beers. Australia is famous for their craft beers. So we don’t live a day in Australia without trying crafts. That’s a must do.We had late lunch, by the time lunch is done, we slowly strolled to the car and then stopped by Lil Creatures, had another craft beer before leaving.

We left freemantle about 4pm, drove slowly to Kings Park. Arrived at King’s Park about 5pm. Strolled in the park for an hour, left for dinner.

Dinner is at an interesting place that sells ribs and burger. I had ribs, the spouse had ribs. Its a count of 7 ribs for me, 3 for the spouse. You should be creative and think about how we look like in terms of size(shaking head).

After dinner, we meet up with my buddies from school before calling it a night. It was an enjoyable catch up with my school buddies. But the spouse enjoyed stories from my young days. Apparently I do not tell full story and only censored ones. She is getting the uncensored from my friends. You can imagine how I look eh? Oh well, life goes on. Called it a night about 10pm.

Throwback-Perth Aug 2019

24/08/2019

We started our trip to airport early due to network glitch in Klia. Woke up 3am, left for airport at 4am, arrive in Klia at 5am for 9am flight. 4 hours earlier as adviced by Malaysia Airlines, our carrier. Strangely they have resolved the issue and only allowed check in at 6am. We checked in and flew on time to Perth. Luggage arrived with us. No problem at all.

We picked up our car and then went to check into our Airbnb. We kinda like the place. Its a very cozy place. See the photos. Our first dinner, isssss(drumroll) Thai dinner. The spouse said its strange that our first dinner is Asian food. I said, there is only fish and chip here thats aussie food ya know. Anyway we enjoyed it. After dinner, we went for an evening walk at North Bridge Road. I complaint about the expensive parking.. Hehehhe. So we ensured we left within an hour. 4 aussie dollar/hr.

We enjoyed our walk. Called it a night at 8pm ish.

2019

Wow its been a long time since I blogged. 8 months. I just did not have the mood to blog. Back now. Well I will try to write look backs.

Many things have happened since then. Moved home, started new role, travel for work now and vacations. I also lead a healthier lifestyle now. Gym, changing diet… The result? 7.5kg lighter since Jan 2019.

Last month also said goodbye to a good friend that passed away. Much too early. We will miss him.

I guess that’s a summary of 2019 highlights so far. Lookout for my Perth trip that I intend to blog.

Left Sg & Happy New Year.

So I have officially left Sg. Closed a chapter of my life as of yesterday. After we landed, we crashed and zzz. The spouse caught a cold. And here we are, on new year eve, celebrating the last hour with our friends. For coffee of course. Whatever else would we do.

Wishing every one a happy new year. I will try to blog more next year. Till then….

Goodbye my small abode of 5Y

Today I handed over my rental HDB keys back to my landlord. So much feeling of nostalgia. We just counted back and realized I have stayed here for 5Y+. Wow time flies. It has been a pleasure staying here I must say. I am on my final countdown of saying goodbye to Singapore. Bursting with nostalgic feelings.

Knots, Cafe and Living

If you haven’t been here, you got to try out this place. It’s pretty, quaint and mostly just cosy. You can be cosy cosy here the whole day if you want. The food is crazily good too. Albeit very rich. Both the spouse and me were stuffed up.

One of the thing I picked up in Singapore is this Singlong Chilli Crab Sauce. We love it. You should try it. I just wanna blog this to remember this. Uhmz one more thing, we put prawns in it and not crab. We dont know how to kill nor cook a crab.

Bus 106 SG

I was telling the spouse that this may be my last trip on bus 106 from Ion Orchard to Clementi as starting from tomorrow onwards, I am in last two weeks transit mode. At least last on this assignment. The company have separate arrangement on transportation. It is very nostalgic for me. For years I take this bus to and fro if I ever want to go to town. I think I have written before how comfortable bus ride is in Singapore. It still is. See below.

Also the most expensive ride, is Sgd 1.80. It is hard to breach SGD2. See what I mean? Affordable and comfortable should be their tag line.

Goodbye bus 106.

Mix pork meat soup

One of Singapore’s charm is food. Here is one that I like. Mix pork meat soup. For Sgd6.50, you can have 1 mix pork meat soup, 1 plate of vege and 1 tofu. I will miss this place.

West Coast Market Dong Dong.
